April update

Well I’m back with an April edition to the blog.

Nutbusters (our actual play podcast) may have finished airing, but we will have more to come out. The CaffeineAddledMinds feed will not remain quiet for long. Nutbusters season two is recorded and editing has begun, however there will be some other none Nutbusters related episodes dropping soon so if you don’t like actual play content then don’t worry, I promise that isn’t the only thing we will be uploading to that feed. (Seriously I’ve been so busy this month I only just had chance to finish the Star Trek DVD’s that arrived during my last post.)

In other news (imagine a trumpet doing that fanfare thing), the second post of the Shannon Hour Blog (Written by fellow Caffeine Addled Mind Shannon) will be live today as well, so please check it out for some fun suggestions of music you might not have listened to. I already have and definitely agree with number one.

And with these house keeping parts out of the way it’s time for me to go off on a tangent.

Spring is here and I even managed to get the old BBQ out of hibernation for one day in March (As is the British custom upon the first day you feel you can comfortably wear a T-shirt outside in the sun after winter, you must fire up the BBQ and you will enjoy it). Yes it was great to grill again and yes I ate far too much, but that’s how we tell our bodies the long wet winter is over and the possibly wet (but hopefully sunny) spring might have some more days of sun in between the rain (fingers crossed)

Now my friends know I love to cook and that goes double for cooking on a BBQ (I really do). There’s something just fun about being out there in fresh air listening to the meat gently sizzle. A cold beer in one hand, spatular in the other and all the while I’m having to gently fight off Luke’s cat (and regular guest star on Dude You Good?) Crispy as she tries to steal some food (bless her). It’s also been stated that a Jordan BBQ (Yes it’s a whole category unto itself) requires fasting for beforehand, because you don’t leave hungry when I’m grilling and I assume everyone eats as much as I do. Which is why it’s probably a good thing I don’t get to grill very often as I would be eating way too many burgers, sausages, steaks and corn on the cob (Although the last one probably wouldn’t be that big a problem).

Now I know you’re all wondering right about now why’s Jordan going off on a BBQ tangent?

The answer is two fold:

Firstly as I type this on a very windy and rainy cold Monday at the end of March I am reminding myself of the good weather we have had, because it’s always easy to forget the good days when the horrible ones roll in. However secondly at some point the Caffeine Addled Minds will no doubt be gathering to eat too much BBQ food and this will serve as a warning for when we all complain we’ve eaten too much before recording and yes I’m sure there will be pictures to follow of us all in our official hoodies.

So enjoy April, dodge the showers and if you haven’t already, get that BBQ out of hibernation and enjoy yourselves the first chance you get.

Jordan (Co-founder and creator of the Caffeine Addled Minds).
