The Shannon Hour 2

Sup! Sorry but it’s me again. That’s right! It’s time for…

*drum roll *

Well I hope by now you realise it’s time for me the Shannon (of the Shannon hour blog) to decide what the heck I’m going to tell you.

After what I can only describe as an absolute whirlwind of shit the last time we spoke, I’m back.

The birds still help, they all still visit daily and I’ve even got some new friends you’ve yet to meet.

At the time of me writing this, it is nearly Ostara (spring equinox) and winter will finally be behind us.

So despite all that’s currently happening in this chaos tornado named my life, I’m choosing to look forward to the real start of the year. Flowers are blooming, animals are raising young and the summer nights are just peaking on the horizon. (And yes this is also when the trees and plants decide to assault my nose and eyes on a daily basis with their pollen)

Now, honestly I’ve been rather bad these past few months. But eh it is what it is I suppose. We circle the drain and come out in the ocean. Or at least I hope we do. But I suppose we’ll never truly know where the drains go…

So during the past month I’ve been making a real effort to get back into listening to music daily (A habit teenage me would have been furious I’d forgotten about).

*Imagine wiggly flashback effects and harp music*

Every day when I got home from school there’d be 3 steps.

  • Music

  • MSN (yes I am in fact THAT old)

  • Drawing supplies.

Evenings and nights just spent chatting, drawing and bopping away to what ever CD (I’m old remember, stop with the gasps) I’d got with my pocket money.

So in celebration of the weird, wonderful and definitely broken teen me, I’ve decided to just give you a list of the top 10 tunes I’ve had on repeat this past month, each of them chosen to give me the vibe I want at the time. Hopefully you notice something new, maybe a classic that you’d forgotten about.

(Now please keep in mind… my music taste is a Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide variety and most of these aren’t exactly safe for work)

  1. Hey I don’t work here - Tom Cardy (anyone who works with the public can probably relate to this one)

  2. The Fate of Ophelia - Our Last Night (what can I say, metal covers of Taylor Swift songs slaaaaaaaap)

  3. Everywhere I go - Hollywood Undead (Definitely not safe for work)

  4. Funeral Derangements - Ice Nine Kills (my alarm tune for which I get judged by my my fellow CaffineAddledMinds)

  5. Ex-Mørtis - Ice Nine Kills (yes it’s a song about the Evil Dead… yes Bruce Campbell was a crush of mine as a teen but OF COURSE he was… it’s Bruce bloody Campbell)

  6. FMRN - Lillyisthatyou (Definitely not safe for work)

  7. Criminal - Eminem (honestly you’re lucky this is the only Eminem anthem on here)

  8. Slutty - The Scarlet Opera

  9. Save a horse (ride a cowboy) - Big & Rich (Actually is safe for work)

  10. Alive with the glory of love - Say Anything

So yeah, I hope those bops may appeal to you. If not that’s fine but please try and listen to them at least once (you never know).

I love music! I think it’s such an important way we all connect and make memories together.

So sing your little hearts out and have a little dance. Because if everything else is burning down, at least music will be there to pour you a drink and agree that yes, they also hate the same bitch from math class. So yeah.

Listen to music, that’s an order.

Peace
