August Update and Anniversary of the Blog!
Well we’re here. It’s August and that means this blog has been going for a year. I’ve said this before but I will say it again (and no doubt many more times in the future) thank you to anyone who reads this and or listens to our shows. Sadly however, today’s post will be a little mixed in news and different to how I had planned it to go.
When I started writing this blog it was to keep announcements in one place but also to get me back into a routine of writing (which it definitely has, so goal achieved there). I love these little updates and additions from my fellow Caffeine Addled Minds and really hope they continue to contribute to this as well as myself, because at the end of the day this isn’t just my own personal blog (although maybe I will do one of those someday).
I am so proud of the Caffeine Addled Minds and all the contributions we have all made this year and previously as well and that is why I have been working out how best to put this next bit.
Life is complicated and messy and people rarely get the chances to do everything they want. Four people getting to do everything without life getting in the way are even less likely as probabilities and all that start to go into play.
Sadly Shannon (who is still a valued member of the Caffeine Addled Minds for her creativity and experiences) has chosen to leave our group. At the time of writing this I don’t know what that will mean for Dude you Good? and Babs will probably not be in GNS season 2 when that comes out. I hope there may be a time when life isn’t so complicated and Shannon could rejoin, but that isn’t for me to say.
I will not say that cliche “We wish her luck in her future endeavours” (Not because I don’t, Shannon knows we do, but because I think that particular saying is so hollow and kind of sounds bitchy). So instead I want to say truly “Thank you Shannon for bringing Babs to life, for Buster’s questionable choices and your character in Nutbusters 2 which has already been recorded and hopefully still gets published.
I want to say thank you for your contributions to Dude You Good and making us all laugh at times over Skin Stains (Tattoos for those of you who haven’t listened to the Caffeine Addled Archives), Lactose intolerant mistakes (because as someone with IBS I can relate) and for never inviting a malevolent entity into the house by actually bringing in a haunted doll.
I know people by their nature like to speculate. I don’t want to go into Shannon’s private life as that’s not something I would do for any of the Caffeine Addled Minds. And I really do hope she knows how much she is cared for here.
However on a lighter happier note because I don’t want to end a blog post on such a dour theme:
Both Alex and I have been talking about future projects and for a limited time the hit, critically acclaimed (by the two of us) podcast spin off / light hearted takeover Bro You Fine? will be coming back for a few episodes in the next few months. I don’t know how many we will get away with before Dude You Good?’s legal team (A.K.A Luke) serves us with a notice, but until then we will be keeping the feed alive.
We are also working out what we want to do with our return to Minecraft so keep an eye out for those updates in the future as well as any others that may come your way.
So once again. Thank you for listening, watching or reading any of our content. You really are an awesome person for doing so and if you know someone who might like something we do, tell them to check us out so they can be told how awesome they are as well!
