Now I know what you are thinking…
How can we be in November?
Honestly I have no idea, one minute I’m slapping burgers on a BBQ the next I’m in my warm comfy clothes with a Hot chocolate (although I do enjoy a good burger any time of year come to think about it).
Now what’s happened since our last update? Well me and Luke (or Luke and I if you are going to be correcting me on that) went to visit Henstone Distillery which is located just on the English side of the border with Wales. (I don’t have a problem with Wales before you ask, I’m just giving you a little bit of context). Henstone distillery is by far the smallest whisky distillery I have taken Luke to, which he found really fun actually and I want to give a big thank you to Henry and the team for putting up with us and Luke’s occasionally weird questions that quite frankly, as his brother, have become… accustomed to? Numbed to? Broken by?
All of the above I guess at one time or another.
Henstone distillery was great fun though in all seriousness and I do suspect Luke was a little more distracted by the adorable piglets running around the outside of it. (Piglets in a distillery would probably not end well). Now it wqas a simple overnight trip in a budget hotel chain, but creature comforts aren’t all that important for one night so that wasn’t an issue…
However I want to raise one very important item of evidence to all of you out there, and that is the difference between me and Luke when it comes to sleeping arrangements.
Whenever we go visiting a distillery or such and end up stopping in a room over night, this is what I have to put up with.
Luke claims the big bed every time and takes every pillow he can get his hands on while I (the older brother I might add) am stuck on a barely big enough cot-thing with one pillow if i’m lucky.

Henstone distillery’s Still, which is a combination of copper pot and column still configuration.
With our visit completed we even recorded a Caskheads episode about our visit and Henstone in general. Check that out if you haven’t.
In other news, those of you who read this blog reguerly enough may have noticed the layout has changed and we’ve added tags as well as authors. This will hopefully make my life easier when I try linking to past blog posts (something that may well happen in future posts now I’ve been doing this over a year).
