May Update

It’s May and that’s frankly crazy. Did I (being the nerd I am) consider moving the publishing date forwards by one day? Of course, but I didn’t because I’m trying to be consistent and this is in no way a Star Wars blog so it would have been pointless. Do I want to do a Star Wars blog post? Obviously, but there are almost certainly countless ones dedicated to all things Star Wars so I’ll let it slide.

Any way back to the actual meat of the blog, the thick juicy steak of the content (yes I’m hungry, no I’m not going to have a steak as soon as this is written) our May update. Yay! With Nut Busters season one finished and season two being edited for release later this year, some of you may be wondering what has been going on over on the Caffeine Addled Minds podcast feed. Well this latest string of episodes was actually Alex’s pitch and well we all kind of thought it sounded fun so hopefully by the time this update is released there will be a couple to try out.

Dude You Good? fans might have noticed a slightly lowered output, this is for the simple reason that life gets in the way and both Luke and Shannon have busy lives sometimes. It will be back to its usual schedule before you know it and if you really want to get your Dude You Good? fix, why not go back and re-listen to some of the old episodes. (You never know, now might be a great time for me and Alex’s second attempted take over of the channel with a new instalment of Bro you Fine?)

Life getting in the way is a theme for all of us here at the Caffeine Addled Minds, we all work jobs and do this in our spare time. (This is not a hat in hand speech don’t worry, I’m not asking for money, but if you do want to then go over to our patreon page and buy us a caffeinated drink, there will be exclusive content there soon as well so check back). We all do our projects because we love them, the creativity of being a Caffeine Addled Mind really is brilliant but we all support each other as well when things get tough or we get a block.

*Insert shameless self indulgent moment here

Several of us (in fact all of us now I think about it) have something we do outside of the Caffeine Addled Minds that is creative. I won’t put anyone on blast here because I don’t know how comfortable they are sharing their own projects that they do in their own time. I however checked with myself and I’m comfortable with where I’m at to share this next bit (I know I’m treating this rather lightly but it’s actually a big step as I think I’ve only ever told five people this). I love to write (as you may have noticed), I always have from a young age and I’ve always wanted to write a book. Now I know there are countless books out there and yes a lot of them these days are A.I. written and I’m not going to go into my views on that method (but they aren’t positive), I have started and stopped several attempts to write books over the years but this last year alone I have had so much creative energy that I am actually two thirds of the way through finishing one!

I have to admit I had begun to doubt myself as to if it was any good (I still do sometimes) I wondered if anyone would actually read it (again still do) but I showed it to one of the Caffeine Addled Minds and they have been devouring the words and giving feedback on what I’d written with such positivity and sometimes honest criticism that I knew I needed to finish it. So firstly I want to say thank you to Shannon for showing me I wasn’t just writing for myself and secondly I want to say thank you to anyone who has read these blog posts, listened to our podcasts or watched one of our videos because they have fuelled me further to continuing my dream and I hope someday soon I can write a post telling you to find my book.

Jordan (Co-founder and creator of the Caffeine Addled Minds).
