New Year New Blog Post

Well, we’re here in 2026 (though I have started writing this in 2025). I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to go into this year with about as much enthusiasm as I can muster (which is to say I am writing this in my comfy clothes on the sofa instead of at my desk) putting off getting ready to go to work. (I have time).

December is over and done with and January is here, now in case you haven’t picked up on this from my writing, I don’t believe in all this New Year’s resolutions and best foot forwards kind of thinking. Don’t get me wrong if you want to do that then good for you, but why try to start in January? Why not wait until March when Spring is here or June or even next week? Why does it have to be January 1st?

Well I know there’s the symbolism (and no it is not lost on me). My point is: change isn’t something you just flick a switch on and it’s accomplished instantly, it’s a constant effort and will take time and yes there will probably be slips on the road to change. Look at our blog posts for example, I chose to start writing this blog, I reached my hands into its metaphorical chest and re-started its heart with my own bare hands after years of neglect. I chose to do this in the middle of 2025 and post on the first Tuesday of the month because that was what struck my fancy and I continue to do so now.

(As my old primary school head teacher would have said “give yourself a pat on the back”)

For years I have joked about this saying, it often felt as though it was given out for trivial accomplishments in school. Now however, looking back I see it for more, sometimes just acknowledging the little accomplishments helps to remind you, you are making progress. I am all too guity of ignoring the smaller steps and focusing on the overall goal. I hope the Caffeine Addled Minds grows bigger and it would be great if our creations could financially support us, but that’s not why we create, we do it because we want to, we enjoy it and we hope you, as an audience enjoy the results. Until then I need to acknowledge the smaller steps.

We have a blog (which continues to be updated).

We have a new actual play podcast, Nutbusters, coming out (starting this month).

We continue to have fun creating our projects.

The truth is I can look back and see the small, but marked progress we have made. I can see the growth from last year and no, its not record breaking. (In fact I think it’s safe to say It’s probably not even a drop in the ocean as far as podcast listenership goes) but I want to take the time to say from all of us at Caffeine Addled Minds…

Thank you to anyone who has checked out our shows, read a blog post, or even just liked a post on social media. Every time someone like yourself does so, it serves as a reminder that we aren’t alone here. As I’ve said, we love creating and we will continue to do so, but knowing there are people out there listening to and reading our creations brings a smile to my face and motivates us to create more.

So 2026 is here and we’re kind of ready for it.

Jordan (Co-founder and creator of the Caffeine Addled Minds).
